Pappur Saxon
The famed Eweson priest who near-singlehandedly revived worship of the god Fidaious. He was a man of many identities, known by some as an ardent adventurer and others as a priest of bottomless wisdom and guile. Originally a Cleric of Helenaphe in a provincial Mindreland town, Pappur changed faiths three times before settling in his late forties on Fidaious, setting his efforts to excavating the dead god's relics and forgotten temples.
He was arrested in 1022 for theft of a supposed artifact of Fidaious--a penknife used by the high saint Davitta--from a museum in New Oriel. His death in prison a month later triggered a wave of violence and protest throughout the city and in 1024, the city recognized New Fidaionism as an official religion.
