Sixtus Sandbranch
Sixtus Sandbranch is a lacertan purported to be from the high desert near the eastern slopes of the Great Lookout Mountains. Despite his dessicated, thorny appearance, Sixtus is actually quite fond of the people who live near his reach of the Crystal Wood and holds a lonely vigil over the parched, eroding ghost towns that litter his homeland.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Sixtus' four-foot frame is lean and densely packed with muscle owing to the rigors of his mostly solitary lifestyle. A workmanlike sort, Sixtus must both provide for his own survival through hunting while also taking it upon himself to shore up the steadily collapsing remains of Rustwood. Fighting bandits and carrying out odd jobs on behalf of his neighbors simply serves as more physical conditioning for Sixtus, who takes these labors and the favors they bring without complaint.
Special abilities
Sixtus uses a combination of his claws, arcane fire, transmutation magic gleaned from his his hengeyokai neigbors, and the benefits of ambush to take on potential enemies. Like all lacertans, Sixtus enjoy the benefits of natural camouflage due to his pebbly hide - a trait which he enhances with the judicious application of transmutative or illusory magic. He typically employs stealth and burrowing to follow visitors to his domain from a safe distance, observing them for signs that they might mean him or the folk of the Great Lookouts ill.

Personal history
Sixtus has only seldom interacted with the residents of the Great Lookouts and seems to recollect little of his early life, having hatched in a burrow beneath the ghost town of Rustwood to no particular fanfare during the closing years of the Old Generican era. Sixtus learned much of what he knows of human and near-human culture from exploring the ruins, burrowing his way across the desert to avoid drawing attention to himself. He has, at times, consorted with other lacertans and Hengeyokai native to the area, amongst whom he is known as a trusty and grounded individual who is always happy to (quietly) offer a helping hand or the wisdom he has recovered from the ruins.
Intellectual Characteristics
Sixtus is a well-meaning, if solitary and soft spoken, individual whose experience with surviving in the wilderness is hard-won with experience. He learns best from observation, watching visitors in his domain for a long time before choosing whether or not to establish contact.

Having never known his parents and being the only member of his clutch to be found in the burrow when first hatched, Sixtus considers himself a child of the sun itself. He offers up morning prayers to an unnamed god or spirit of the sun as a part of his personal religious practice, and would likely prove amenable to joining a more structured religion should it include a solar deity.
