Resistance Leader, Former Geneticist
A former geneticist at the Theoryspace Sea Base, she is currently leads the
Resistance after her brother, Raphael, died in a human test experiment gone wrong.
She was head of a division that focused on regeneration called the Rejuvenation Department on the Research and Development Sea Base. The boys from the Marine Biology Department were sent over to deliver a highly classified material that was to be experimented on human subjects to test its rapid healing attributes. Rochelle was to head the experiment, and Rochelle's brother, Raphael, volunteered to be the first subject.
Upon awaking from the procedure, Raphael had a reaction. A security guard who was a colleague of Raphael put a hand onto his shoulder to ask if he was okay. He immediately started to be absorbed into Raphael's body. A lab assistant tried to pull off the security guard from Raphael, but she also became absorbed. Raphael now was approximately 3 times the size of a human, and contorted into a brown spindly mass. Rochelle hit the alarm, and security came and started shooting the mass with screaming bodies peeking out of it's own.
Hundreds of bullets hit the mass, and it collapsed. After a few moments, a guard approached, and was quickly struck by the mass and absorbed. It regained it's humanoid form and climbed up a flight of stairs to the roof of the base, and jumped into the sea.
Rochelle met up with MARINE BIOLOGIST and he told her that he was part of a joint sea expedition with New Reyland after, and they found a brown organism that was parasitic, hostile, and regenerative. Rochelle realized that he described what she used in the experiment. MARINE BIOLOGIST was abruptly summoned to central, cutting off their conversation.
The following day, HIGH RANKING GUARD took her aside and told her that if she told anyone what MARINE BIOLOGIST said, her family would be in danger. She asked if that was a threat, and he didn't respond right away, only looked at her in the same unemotional, serious demeanor that he always had. "Bare with me, Rochelle", he said, "
Bare with me".
On March 7 in the afternoon, the power went down all across the base, and the emergency doors locked all shuttered down, locking them in. Many scientists in the barracks sprang into action and started to break out. The senior electrician said that the entire base was on emergency backup power, and only basic life support systems would be online. She followed the crowd into a vent and eventually came to a loading dock. They barricaded the door, and they found a few boats. In the group, she recognized ELECTRICIAN, COMPUTER SCIENTIST, CHEMIST, HIGH RANKING SECURITY GUARD, NAUTICAL ESCORT, GEOLOGIST, MARINE BIOLOGIST, and MARINE BIOLOGIST ASSISTANT. ELECTRICIAN and COMPUTER SCIENTIST assured Rochelle that the boats could not be tracked, and the radar systems were down.
The group piled in to 3 boats, and they took off towards the shore. Rochelle was in a boat with CHEMIST, NAUTICAL ESCORT, MARINE BIOLOGIST ASSISTANT, and GEOLOGIST. After departing, the other two boats exploded, killing everyone on board. After sailing away, NAUTICAL ESCORT reveals that COMPUTER SCIENTIST told her to change the identifying numbers on the boats the day before the escape. After wondering where to go, Rochelle remembers the clues that were given to her. She had her honeymoon in Brookridge, which was known for its flowers before the tsunami, and it's mascot was Hunky the honey bear. They make their way to a half-flooded hotel, and make camp, and after talks with her ship mates, is concerned for her husband. Luckily stationed in Bull Shoals, she takes the boat and gets him within the day, right before he is about to be "transferred" to New Hope. MARINE BIOLOGIST ASSISTANT reveals that there is a potential antibody to the "Bellicose Parasite" being researched at Sea Base 2.
