Telete, Goddess of Perversion
Telete is the most mysterious and unknown goddess of New Atlantis. Her only epithet is "The Whore of Tymoria," and as far as any mortal knows she has never been allowed to leave that realm. It is very rare that the Punishment of Telete is invoked in the mortal world, for the only ones who are branded with her Mark are those who abuse children in horrifying ways. No mortal actually knows how to depict Telete, except as female; but the nature of her Mark has led her to being depicted interchangeably as the victim or perpetrator of sexual child abuse.
While Chiron is the God of Punishment, he cherishes the innocence of children; mortals who shatter that innocence, either with drugs, sex, or violence, are given the only capital punishment allowable in the kingdom: the Mark of Telete. Those convicted of such heinous crimes are branded and collared before they are taken to a Temple or herd of Centaurs that has a Chosen of Chiron; the Chosen is then called upon to execute the criminal in the same way that they hurt their victims before their soul is sent to Tymoria to join the hated goddess that they emulated.
The lesser Punished Deities do not have proper clerics; people pray to them that their personal failings will be forced upon the god instead, adding to their punishment in Tymoria. Telete is sometimes prayed to by worried parents that believe their children are in danger, that she would be tormented further to protect them.
