Southtip Village
Created to support a risky business venture by the Ehmere Mining Company, the largest of such companies on the Isle of Atlanta, Southtip Village and its attached settlements are situated in the southernmost area of the Kingdom of Gades; past the Great Forest of Gades, and outside the normal protections associated with living within one of the Ten Kingdoms. Caravans bringing supplies and news from the kingdom are few and far between, something that many people who live in Southtip Village prefer.
The initial settlers were mostly people looking to get away from town life in the main Kingdom, but have been coasting along for the fifteen years the village has been around because the mining camp has yet to find a truly profitable vein of ore. What little has been dug up has been sent back to the Ehmere Company, leaving Southtip Village without a ready supply of metals.
Their proximity to the mountains means that monster attacks are common. Harpies and the occasional Siren will attack the fields on cloudy days, often accompanied by a small band of Gnolls; and the men of the village are split between farmers and hunters, who use their bows not only for food but also to shoot down encroaching bird monsters. The lack of skilled warriors for defending their crops has forced the villagers to rely on the aid of the local Satyr and Limnad populations to make it through several winters. The Zarakis Family is currently training several magically gifted children from the settlements, hoping to teach them how to use their power to defend the fields.

Infrastructure
There is a dirt road that passes down the middle of the fields between the main village and the Politas Farmstead which continues on to the North Dock and further back into Gades proper. There is also a road that branches off from that one that leads to the Mining Camp. Cutting through the trees immediately to the west of Southtip is a path that connects to the Zarakis Farmstead.
The main village is home to a Temple to Persephone, the only structure in the village that is primarily stone. The temple has a large, magically cooled, cellar area where they store food for the winter. The Zarakis Farmstead has a similar storage building that has been enchanted with arcane magic to preserve its contents.
Southtip Village has about fifteen empty houses, originally having been built to prepare for what was expected to be an imminent second wave of settlers.

Guilds and Factions
Southtip Village is officially owned by the Ehmere Mining Company, who use the settlement to support a mine in the south east.
Architecture
Southtip Village consists mostly of wattle and daub houses, with a few wooden houses belonging to the wealthier families. The temple to Persephone is different, having a stone foundation and walls that reach 8 feet high before being replaced with wood for the top of the building. The temple has small shrines to Cloris and Anicetus in it; and all of the statues in the temple are painted stone, made by an aged, now senile, mage in the village. In addition, the Temple to Cybele is an entirely wooden structure, one of the only ones in any of the settlements.
Geography
The village proper is situated on the southern banks of Ehmere Lake, with a thick woodland to the west, and miles of farmland in the east that stop at the edge of the foothills of the mountains that run all the way around the east and south borders of the area.
The woods that sit on the western border of Southtip Village are home to a friendly troupe of Satyr that assist their neighbors in hunting and trapping.
On the other side of the woods is the Zarakis Farmstead; while north-and-east of Southtip Village, back towards civilization, is the Politas Farmstead.
On the northern shore of the lake is a small hamlet that is surrounded by more farmland and also has a few fishing boats.
North of the lake is the Great Forest of Gades, which is inhabited and defended by Satyrs, Centaurs, and Dark Elves.
South and East is the New Ehmere Mining Camp, which is attempting to find a profitable source of copper or iron. The work camp is located in the mountain's foothills, just a short distance from where the mine is being dug.

Natural Resources
Wood is a controlled resource, as the forest is inhabited by a troupe of friendly Satyrs. Similarly, overfishing of the lake would be punished by the resident Limnades. That being said, neither resource is truly scarce; and firewood is plentiful in the winter.
The fields between the main village and the Politas Farmstead are planted in rotation with wheat, various vegetables, and pastureland. Meanwhile, the fields around the Zarakis Farmstead are orchards of dates and figs, with apple and pear trees in the south, as well as potatoes that are grown near the foothills of the mountains. These fields and orchards are better maintained, as the Zarakis Family are able to use their magic to protect their own holdings.
