Kaenrajii

"The outer and inner planes are not so distant as was once thought. Your duty is to protect our guests as much as it is to protect our own. Promise me that you will stand loyal to your post, do not abandon us again." -Quenice Svefŋ's final wish to the Chief
Once a lesser-known forest and tribe by the same name. This People has been brought to light by Tenraien Rajii after reclaiming and sealing the Book of Vile Darkness during the events of 1493DR. Kaenrajii is a peaceful yet formidable land deep in the High Forest.
Neither directly part of The Lord’s Alliance or Cormyr, this town serves as a neutral force and direct buffer in the War of Scorching fields. The town’s main export is a fine wine with a dry floral flavour, it is quite popular amongst those with lavish lifestyles. Though Kaenrajii is not a major trade hub, it does bear the grounds to the Old Faith Cathedral.
The population is mostly made up of a subsection of wood-elves that refer to themselves as True wood-elves given that they have the physical characteristics of various plants such as bark skin or leaves for hair. Others that live in the town mostly are practitioners of the Old Faith or those who come from the outer-planes; via the Old Faith Cathedral. They're one of a few large groups which officially worship the old faith.
The native Kaenra or True wood-elf population are raised and trained mostly as druidic warriors commonly referred to as Door Keepers. After sealing the Book of Vile Darkness in the primordial outer planes, Tenraien was unable to shut the portal that he returned through. As Kaenrajii developed and expanded through the following centuries Tenraien and the village shaman formed an order to protect the portal from both sides in order to stop anyone with malicious intent from travelling between the inner and outer planes.
Though Kaenrajii works in harmony with nature and is one of the largest orders for training in the Druidic Arts, the town surprisingly doesn’t have the best standing with the Emerald Enclave. This is likely due to their peaceful and neutral stance as an order, unwilling to interfere with any outside politics.
Their most notable members are Tenraien Rajii and Aeva Svefn (both formerly of Immortals’ Bane).

Industry & Trade

To reach Kaenrajii without a guide is near impossible due to being surrounded by the High Forest (being notoriously difficult to navigate). This natural warding is part of the reason Kaenrajii was never invaded during the War of Scorching Fields. This also limits their trade, but they still manage to export their distinctive wines to obtain foreign currency.

Geography

The woods around and within the town have an unnatural abundance of flora and fauna both of magical and mundane varieties. Biodiversity here is unmatched elsewhere in all of Faerun likely due to either extraplanar magic leaking from the portal, or perhaps something to do with the natural ley lines underneath the town.
