Ice Mines

Whilst the crazed wizards of Corymr might summon an ice elemental to make their ice, in the magic-less land of Neverwinter, it has to be done the old fashioned way. Every icebox in Neverwinter gets their ice from the huge ice mines in Luskan, where the natural cold makes ice harvesting a viable business. It is then sent by insulated ship (insulated, of course, with naturally mined asbestos) along the canal to the Neverwinter Ice depository, in east Rivington.
The ice depository stores it in underground caverns, dug deep enough under the earth to maintain the required cool temperatures. It is then auctioned off, block by block, to anyone in need of fresh ice.
