Blackford Crossing
About a day's journey east of Luskan, this is the only way to cross the river Mirar into Icewind dale. Adds at least an extra day to any trip into Luskan, unless you can cross the river Mirar at its mouth, where it's too wide and fast for a bridge. At Blackford Crossing the river essentially turns on its side, and forms a deep chasm between two rocky hills.
In this location, in 1552 DR the battle of Blackford crossing was fought, which marked the turning point in the Frozen War.
