In many corners of the world, nobility are expected to abide by codes of honor, ancient traditions, and an elevated sense of decorum—this rings less true in Daeruin. One of the Great Houses of the Dark Elves, House Irenor is a noble house led by Demisa Irenor, a matriarch and pirate queen who personally rules the southeastern islands with an iron fist. Beyond the fearsome matriarch, her kin rule lands across the empire and are even said to have holdings in the Underdark. House Irenor's members are concerned with the acquisition of gold and command of trade routes, a goal they are willing to use any method to accomplish. They're known for their cutthroat and ruthless dealings, especially concerning piracy and Slavery. While all of the noble houses of Daeruin engage in slavery without exception, House Irenor is defined by the institution. Many, including their noble peers, consider House Irenor to be little more than a pack of glorified pirates. Their dogged pursuit of slaves to produce their lucrative cash crops, along with the very crest of their home being that of the chain-bearing raven, lends House Irenor the nickname, 'the bloodhounds of Daeruin,' a name they bear with pride.
