Castello Caldarini
Lord of Sayda
The young, new, ambitious Lord of Sayda. A young man in his early twenties, Castello of House Caldarini pursues progress and the future at any cost. Though born in the village of Sayda as the first and only son of the previous Lord, Ghirigoro of House Caldarini, a minor house in the Rose dynasty of which Queen Evelyn is now the head of, Castello has spent the majority of his life in the capital, Almavira. In the great city, he was educated and prepared for the burden of lordship. When he returned to be Sayda's ruler, having only just reached the age of twenty, he set forth to turn the simple farming village into a prosperous town, befitting his ideals of education and development.

Personal history
Having only spent the earliest years of his life in Sayda before returning by his twentieth birthday to take the throne after his father, Lord Ghirigoro, passed away, Castello of House Caldirini has always felt somewhat out of place in this quaint forest village. The young lord of Sayda did not spend much of his youth in the village. He was sent to the capital by his father at a young age to study the advancements in politics, technology, and trade that were emerging there. A quick study, Castello took to the fine arts, swordsmanship, and the art of diplomacy. During his weapon training, he became close with another young man from Sayda as well, a scion of an old local noble house, Jerome of House Clitherow. The two became fast friends, and when Castello returned to Sayda to take the throne after his father passed away, he knew who he would ask to accompany him as his retainer to watch his back.
Now a young ruler, less than a decade older than the child queen of the kingdom, Castello has inherited the throne of Sayda, serving as its lord upon his twentieth birthday. With his trusted retainer Jerome at his side, he has set forth to put Sayda on the map in any way he can. His city education informs his aspirations for the sleepy village he now rules. Castello seeks to enlighten the villagers of Sayda about the virtues of education, philosophy, art, and culture, the things he experienced in Almavira. Despite his enthusiasm, many in the village still regard him as threatening their way of life. Even with his ambitions tempered by the more careful Jerome, Castello struggles to understand why this village of farmers and laborers would chafe at the prospect of becoming more like the capital. The villagers assert that Castello has no care for their way of life or unique traditions. In contrast, the young lord asserts they are yet to realize the benefits that would be gained upon adopting a more open, forward-thinking policy. As a gesture to win the favor of some old farming families, Castello has started importing and is now developing more advanced farming equipment, increasing harvest yields. However, many in the village still remain cool on inviting more foreigners from the cities to buy up land and develop the village further.
Education
Castello received an education befitting of a young noble. He seemed to be most interested in swordsmanship, music, and drama. He is skilled with many weapons and prefers the rapier. Despite the weapons training, he has yet to actually see a battle himself. Otherwise, besides the usual common, he is fluent in the Draconic tongue and able enough in Elven to impress courtiers.
Morality & Philosophy
An idealist, Castello firmly believes that goodness comes from seizing one's dreams. He sees his life's purpose as bringing enlightenment and refinery to the people he has been charged with taking care of. From his vantage point, he sees the duty of a king as being to guide his people to the light, whether they like it or not. This kind of thinking has earned him the ire of many of his villagers, regarding his innovative and ambitious personality as contrary to their traditional way of life.
Social
Social Aptitude
Castello is well known for his silver tongue and power of persuasion. However, he is often regarded as an over-promiser. He often delivers but he has been known to make grandiose promises and say what he must say to secure what he wishes, regardless of if he knows he can make good on said promises or not.
