The Young Queen
Evelyn of House Rose is the young queen-regnant of the Kingdom of Ayrith. Ruling over one of the most powerful, wealthy, and influential kingdoms on the mainland, Queen Evelyn lives in the shadow of the legacy of her family and her people. Having ascended to the throne when she was merely ten years of age at the unexpected death of her father, King John, she was thrust into leadership well before she was ready. The King was well-liked by his people, though the nobility chafed under his leadership. As such, Evelyn often finds herself struggling to rule, having to navigate waters as treacherous as the cutthroat realm of Almaviran politics. Constantly surrounded by court intrigue and clandestine factions undermining her every move, Evelyn has found solace and guidance in her most trusted advisors. Household guards and family servants surround the young queen at all times, and she is rarely seen alone for fear of assassination attempts. As she was never formally betrothed during her father's life, she remains unmarried and rules alone as the sole monarch of the kingdom.Physical Description

Evelyn bears a mild scar on her left ear. When being pulled to safety with great haste during the assassination of her father, she bore the mark as a result of the armor of her retainer, Lysander.

Apparel & Accessories
Evelyn tends to wear formal dresses befitting a royal, fit with ermine cloaks and her usual crown, which she inherited from her father. Her crown is gold and ornate, containing gems of rubies and sapphires with pearls adorning the band. Sometimes, though, she may wear a less flashy circlet instead. Her dresses are often, though not always, red, the distinctive color associated with Ayrith, Almavira, and her noble house.

Personal history
Born in Almavira to the previous King John Rose and Queen-Consort Alice Rose, the then Princess Evelyn was an only child of a powerful family on the rise. She proved astute in her early years, quickly grasping language, fine arts, and the concepts of rulership. While her father naturally hoped for a male heir, he had made peace with the idea that should anything happen, Evelyn would be the one to ascend to his position and rule the kingdom. Though he likely did not plan on it being so soon as Evelyn was orphaned at the tender young age of ten. King John was poisoned at a royal dinner, a week before negotiations were to take place between his realm, Daeruin, and Asvathas. In a night, Evelyn went from a child dedicated to her studies and attending her parents at royal appointments to being the legitimate ruler of one of the most powerful and chaotic kingdoms on the continent.
Education
Evelyn enjoyed a proper education under the finest tutors royalty can secure. With masters of law, faith, and essential knowledge guiding her tutelage, she proved a sharp study at a young age. However, her suitably paced education had become rushed and laden with stress upon the death of her parents and the immediate assumption of Evelyn to the throne. Educationally, she has been most interested in matters of the arts and notable women throughout the history of her people.
Mental Trauma
Given her parental void, she has come to feel a natural skepticism of authority figures claiming to seek to help her. She has resisted any attempt at a regency, common for child rulers who have not come of age yet. As such, she rules alone and truly, as a proper, independent monarch. That being said, conversations about her parents, especially her father, tend to make her emotional rather quickly. As such, to preserve the majesty of her station, she rarely engages in such topics and never in public.

While she is known to be a sharp student, Evelyn's deadpan delivery and endless curiosity can make her seem obtuse and even flippant to those unfamiliar with her.

The young queen tends to try to do the right thing as expected by her subjects. She believes a good government is one led by laws, tradition, and care for the subjects being lorded over. Tyrants, despots, and cruel rulers feature strongly in the hearts of the Droth as situations to be avoided and condemned. As such, she is careful to toe the line of arbitrary shows of power. On a personal level, she strongly values honesty, loyalty, and honoring her pledges.
Taboos
Due to the murky rumors about her father's extramarital affairs that became only more clear after his death, Evelyn has a particular distaste for adultery and, more generally, betrayals and shows of disloyalty.

Evelyn has demonstrated a fair interest in faith, especially in mythological and saintly stories found throughout her culture and others nearby. In particular, she has shown increased interest in stories of the three sisters Ethilia, Galixaia, and Selethis. Unlike her father, she has not been very hands-on with the temples, letting them govern their own affairs for the most part.
Hobbies & Pets
Since the age of eight, Evelyn has had a trusted companion she keeps in her private quarters and royal gardens. Her pet dog is named Sebastian, it is a large brown canine with a playful though protective attitude.
