At some point Forlan began to hate his family more, wishing to save Ardal from their corruption

Forlan then attempts to absconder Ardal away from the family, in a bid to keep them out of the Gwystirs' sphere of influence

This plan is poorly thought out, an idealistic happy family scene of Tara, Forlan and little Ardal

After absconding away, whilst still 'on the run' , Tara realises that she is pregnant- but withholds this information for now

After a day or two, the trio are found - with Forlan accused of kidnapping and disgraced, banished from the family and forbidden from seeing Ardal again

  • Tara 's family believe that she was manipulated into this, and ban Forlan from seeing her , they are both essentially still teenagers, Tara is forbidden from seeing Forlan again

After his banishment , Forlan attempts to see Tara again , but Tara hides away as she knows Forlan would endanger himself with more reckless behaviour if he were to realise that Tara is pregnant

  • Tara becomes ashamed of convincing Forlan into kidnapping Ardal, leaving Kruk and telling no one of her whereabouts
  • Fully aware that Forlan will wish to see her again, she left a short missive: "I'm sorry for everything, don't try to find me, I'll miss you. Tara"

Upon the loss of Tara, Forlan falls into a severe alchohol addiction, copperless and faithless - completely losing his sense of self , over the ten years :

  • developed intense depression
  • resentment for money based society grew, and he refused to partake in the capital culture
  • all of his experiences with money and the living were tainted , Forlans' only source of income was black market grave robbery
