The Library of Dradia
Devoted to the pursuit of knowledge the Library of Dradia is the largest collection of texts in the world of Neothane. Separated by schools of study this subterranean complex, located underneath the Canavale Mountain, houses nearly 350 million catalogued items, meticulously maintained by an unknown ancient race of creatures commonly referred to as "The Librarians."
Sections of Study
The Library of Dradia is broken up into 30 sub-level segmented sections based around different fields of study. The first 3 floors serve as a museum devoted to the celebration of the history of Neothane. Open to the public daily from daybreak to dusk, the museum operates on a donation of 5 silver pieces per person and offers private tours led by skilled docents at an extra 10 silver per person.
Floors 4-24 are devoted to study, operating as a common university library accessible only to students, professors and approved guests of Vixiara University. Floors 4-12 are reserved for the study of the schools of magic, floors 13 and 14 cover the histories of Neothane and the pantheon of the gods, and finally floors 15-24 cover different fields of general education.
Floors 25-30 are restricted to all except those deemed by the university as "Authorized Personnel." These floors house a myriad of restricted items, (tomes, artifacts, spells) the Vixiara Restoration Center, and access to the Sphere of Ita, which is located on the 30th floor.
Precautions and Regulations
As the largest collection of knowledge known to man, Vixiara University, is incredibly strict about the security and use of their collection and have taken extra precautions to guarantee the continued preservation of the library. The entire Library of Dradia is protected underneath a mass Zone of Silence spell. Designed as an aid to allow the better study for scholars. this Zone of Silence spell was created by Headmistress Amrynn Carsandoral and allows for no spells that require Somatic Casting. Select docents, faculty, and respected scholars are granted special badges that negate the Zone of Silence at the press of a button.
Housed on the 27th floor of the library is the Vixiara Restoration Center. A complex devoted to the preservation of history through the use of the best Conservators in Neothane, if any piece in the library's collection has even the slightest abbrasion, "The Librarians" will collect the piece and take it to the restoration center so it can return to it's place as soon as possible. For any issues that can't be fixed with a simple mending spell, the conservators will pull the item from the archive until it is transcribed to an alternate tome and the new option is returned then the conservators decide if the original item will be retired from public view.
As a final precaution to the continued preservation and security of the library, we find "The Librarians." Upon the rediscovery of Creucanoth and the reestablishment of Vixiara University the first scholars (including Headmistress Amrynn Carsandoral) found the Library of Dradia in perfect condition being upkept by a race of silent creatures. These creatures floated among the stacks of books and kept a careful eye on these new scholars (well, as much of an eye as you can without eyes...) only acting in aggression if someone purposefully damaged any of the items in the collection. Not much else is known about these creatures as they do not communicate in anyway (though they respond to commands) and are seemingly immortal.

The Sphere of Ita and the Arcane Roots
Located 50 feet beneath the bottom floor of the Library of Dradia, and floating in a seemingly endless black expanse, sits the Sphere of Ita. At 60 feet in diameter and 188 feet in circumference, the Sphere of Ita is the single greatest unsolved mystery in Neothane. The sphere is the origin for all arcane energy in Neothane, that much is known for sure, and Ita the god of Magic is the reason mortals can access its power. According to legend, Ita created the sphere as a weapon to aid his sibilngs in their war against the Primordials. Upon their victory, the Upper Pantheon agreed to destroy the sphere, in fear that this creation could be used against them in a time of strife. Yet Ita's magic proved too strong. Unbeknownst to the gods, and still not understood, the sphere had developed a conciousness of its own, spreading its influence through the world itself and granting mortals a taste of godhood for the first times in their lives. As that power grew, so too did Ita's influence and the world with the gods prospered.
In the modern day, the Sphere continues to grant arcane energy around the world. Tendrils in the colors of all of the schools of magic spread from the sphere, leading scholars to dub these tendrils as the "Arcane Roots." The roots stretch deep into the depths of Neothane as well as all the way back up to the top of Canavale Mountain emerging from the tops of each of the 12 Spires. It is the mixture of this arcane energy and the light from Tonnen that give the Prismatic Valley its name The energy from the roots help form the elevator system that the visitors of the Library of Dradia use to traverse the massive structure. Up until the return of Creucanoth many scholars studied these roots that would appear across the lands of Neothane, believing them to be self sustaining fonts of arcane energy. It was at one of these fonts on the continent of Iomis that Xen Minir fell for the second time with an energy so strong it pierced the veil of time and returned Creucanoth to its rightful home.
