Massive undertakings begin to try and mitigate the effects of climate change. Cybernetic enhancements begin to roll out for essential workers in inhospitable zones. The United States is effectively divided into five factions; the Cascadian Accord, the Midwest Alliance, the Free States, the Great Lakes Compact and the Eastern Alliance.
