The Spirit World & The AfterLife

There are many different versions of the afterlife on Neo, but there is really only one truth

The Afterlife

There are many different interpretations of the afterlife on Neo, but there is only one reality. There is no guaranteed afterlife; every living being or creature produces energy, and their energy gets used in either one of two ways: It can be collected and absorbed by a chosen deity with whom they would've had to have made a pact before they die, or their energy gets absorbed by their surroundings when they die.

Life Pacts

If a being or creature makes a pact with a deity before they die, it is the deity's choice on how to use that energy once the follower passes away. Many spiritual beings chose to absorb it and gain power; some use the energies to create an undead army. If the being has a particularly close relationship with the deity, their deity may choose to keep their consciousness attached to the energy and keep the follower as an eternal companion.

The Balance of Life and Death

There is no harmony to search for or protect; the world and both realities are always changing, adding life, taking life, and evolving.

Life, death, and creation are all part of existence. Nothing bad happens if life is taken or given back.

The separation between the Mortal Realm and the Spirit Realm

Everything in existence gives off energy, a harmonic hum. Depending on the frequency, you can access different planes of existence within Neo's universe. There are two planes of existence created by the limitations and vast differences in perception of those who resonate with universal energy and those who don't. Those who resonate with universal energy have extended life spans; some are even immortal. Interactions between the two planes are limited; some beings have enough energy to make a conscious effort to affect both realities, but it is not common. Some beings that are strong enough to experience both realities can gather followers through worship and gain energy through life pacts as their followers age and pass away.

Portals

Occasionally, portals are opened between the two planes in spots known to be affected by planetary anomalies. These portals allow spirit world beings to enter the mortal plane, allowing spirits and creatures to be seen by mortals and to interact. These portals are hard to find and are a rare occurrence, many myths and legends spawn from mortal interactions with godly beings who have used portals to cross over.

Spirit Realm Beings

There are several different creatures and beings on the other side. Having access to as much universal energy as they do tends to morph the body and mental aspects of each creature differently. Some grow really tall with exaggerated limbs, others float in herds, and several are in the water.

Any spiritual creature or being can technically become a worshiped “god,”  but many don't have enough strength to go to the physical world and make an influence on reality. If they do, they gain a following and get more powerful.  These beings also change with time; they go by different names and are worshipped in different ways.

Below is a List of known beings that have been documented - this list is always growing.
