Earth’s governments were deceived, manipulated, and often embroiled in disputes, leading to near-constant unrest. Matters escalated when they encountered the Tarrain, a human-geno offshoot that attacked and declared war.
The conflict forced Earth’s nations to unite, forming the Earth Government United (EGU). This body consists of elected representatives chosen by each country. The EGU oversees global policy, mediates disputes between nations, and controls Earth’s Space Marines and all off-world operations, including relations with colonies and alien civilizations.
