Thrum

The area known as the home of the Giants. Also where the Giants made their last stand against the humans and Elves. The town is the furthest north in Autusgurg and the closest to the Guran Mountains. Here, people can find goliaths and Aarokocra coexisting with the Humans and Elves rather peacefully. Thrum is a simple town with stone and wooden buildings. It sprang up around the area's abundant Blood Flease Sheep (Jungle Sheep from Fools Gold Campaign Setting). They use and sell the wool in their famous textiles. Just outside of town, on the mountain side, players will find the largest colony of Aarokocra anywhere. Their colony is built from wood in the side of the mountain. By land there is only one road leading there.

Demographics

Here one will find a hodgepodge of people from all walks of life. Wood Elves, goliaths and Aarokocra are the most common people you will find here. Humans aren't uncommon either but are less likely than towns closer to Capital.

Government

A local lord acts as Mayor and they answer to a member of the Oak Circle. They are not in town but are a sending stone away.

Defences

A small local guard contingent called by the Lord is all that this town has for defenses.

Industry & Trade

The people of Thrum hunt and harvest wool from the Blood Fleases that live at the base of and along the slope of the mountain. They are not easy prey and much work goes into handling them and their coats.

Infrastructure

The city is full of dirt roads. A large drainage canal runs through the city center to deal with the excessive runoff that comes from the mountain during the rainy season.

Assets

Wind powered textiles and stores of Blood Flease Wool.

Points of interest

Kråke: The Aarokocra village built into the side of the mountain. They are carved into and built out from the face of the mountain. The Mountain is named for the village.   The Mad River: A river made divert run off for a number of purposes. Primarily it was to bring water to the town. Though now it is highly advised to thoroughly boil the water from the river before consuming it. The other was to give a path of least resistance to any potential mudslides that result from the heavy summer rains. The river runs with dozens of colors from the dye used in the manufacture and the water shimmers from the removed poison. Staring into this river for too long one could go absolutely mad. There is a rumor that some bottle the water to sell as an elicit drug but it is unconfirmed.   Madman Textiles: The largest building in the region. Here the Blood Flease is processed into yarn for fabrics. Some are made in house but most are rolled into skeins and sold outside of Autusgurg. The fabric they produce is able to be easily enchanted.   Mad Morgan's Ranch: The ranch owned by the Morgan family. The Morgan family are the local lords and ladies who run the town. They are a family of Goliaths who are naturally resistant to the maddening effects of Blood Flease. Their ranch is large and they raise both normal sheep and Blood Flease Sheep. They also raise a vast amount of chicken in order to keep their herd fed.

Architecture

Simple wooden buildings and cobbled streets. Most buildings are raised one story off the ground to help avoid problems when the Mad River floods.

Geography

The town rests against the foot of the rocky Kråke Mountain. It rests on the rolling plains that stretch eastward to the opposing border the western border. The area is prone to floods and mud slides.
