Phonoflies
Phos (short for phonoflies) are close relatives to glowflies. The little rubbery creatures share a similar round, soft, rubbery physical appearance, with one major difference: a giant mouth. Unlike glowflies, phos are designed to be swarm animals. They use telepathic abilities to communicate nearby sounds between one pho and another as a herd survival instinct. As a built in redundancy, they re-vocalize the sounds to make sure they are transmitted correctly across the herd. As such, it's advised to keep phonoflies from getting too close to eachother to prevent a feedback loop.
Inventor: Rider. Selectively bred by Reeder over 86 generations to increase telepathic range and sound reproduction capabilities (6 generations), and to make them available in 4 designer colors (80 generations).
Notes:
Sounds are transmitted across the entire herd. The ability to selectively decide which sounds are reproduced by which phonofly is still a work in progress. So don't say anything you wouldn't potentially want the whole village to hear!
