Chapter 5: Revelations - Part 2
Part 2: Light
- Jerrod, Ephraim, and Blizz fly to the edge of the summit, where they find Eli blocked by a great serpent.
- Jerrod confronts Eli, calling him out for climbing the mountain despite claiming to not believe in a creator.
- Eli attacks the group, then forces Jerrod to tap into his mind.
In Jerrod's Mind
- Eli's demon relates to Jerrod how much he hated the village, the rules, the hypocrisy. He asks Jerrod why it was so wrong to try to fix the Navigator
- 1st Boss Phase
- Jerrod counters: Trying to fix the navigator wasn't wrong. Being unwilling to admit when you failed is what's wrong.
- Eli's demon dissolves away to Blizz, who attacks Jerrod. So what if you can admit you're wrong? That fixes nothing. What if you can't fix it?
- 2nd Boss Phase
- Jerrod counters: Trying to fix the navigator wasn't wrong. Being unwilling to admit when you failed is what's wrong.
- Blizz dissolves away to Jerrod's true demon, who questions whether Jerrod is worth the effort to change, why he even cares, or if there is such a thing as true right and wrong.
- Jerrod refuses to fall for that rhetoric
- Final Boss Phase
- Jerrod counters: I don't always know what's right or wrong. But I know that I didn't like who I was, and that there were better choices I could make and more that I needed to learn. So if truth is relative, then that truth is relatively better than believing nothing is really good or bad.
Back on the Mountain Side
- Jerrod and Ephraim both come to, but Eli doesn't.
- Ephraim panics and begs Jerrod to fix Eli. He can't. Eli's wounds are already too extensive.
- Ephraim dispairs, and then Jerrod has the idea to take Eli up the rest of the way to the summit to see if the creator can fix him.
