Session 5: Lucius' Demise

The party decided to followed Lucius into the woods after all. Meanwhile Oswin decided to go head to town already, convinced the party could handle the old man by themselves, if he didn't succumb to the elements before they managed to capture him.
After all Oswin didn't want to run late and risk not getting enough sleep for their meeting tomorrow. The party heads into the woods, hot on Lucius' trail. On the way there they come across a lady who looks incredibly stunning from the back but upon approaching it turns out she wasn't all that... to say the least. She did take a fancy to Plum though, the poor puss couldn't be out there fast enough. The party asked her if she had seen Lucius in which she shrieked and told them he had stolen her horse and headed deep into the woods. The party instantly persues the given lead and follow Lucius' tracks and everything he was dropping on the way. However they are stopped again at the entrance of the forest by a man entangled in a thorn bush of the deadly variety. They manage to free him and Ornn actually saves his life but destroys his dead wife's ring in the process. They take him along for the ride on the back of Ornn's horse. The man introduces himself as Robin, from the hood! A well seasoned adventurer.. or so he claims. He is incredibly talkative to the party's dismay.

As the party continues they notice the forest is starting to get darker and gloomier. Whisps have started appearing left and right until they were just swarming the party. Luckily Ornn manages to ward them all off with his divine powers. However this does lead them further in Lucius' direction, as whisps feed off of someone's pain and despair and Lucius seemed to have a whole bunch of that. They meet him trapped in quicksand and in the midst of battle ... well it's more of a cat and mouse game really. With a bunch of malicious wraiths being the cat and Lucius being the mouse for once. The party decides to help out because they believe Lucius must not only pay for his deed but he also holds important information about the PD.

Thus the party decides to face the wraiths but soon come to the realisation that all they can do is grab Lucius and run. However the wraiths threaten to outrun him. This is when Ornn has a marvelous idea and makes Robing and Lucius switch clothes so the wraiths attention is now drawn to poor oblivious Robin. He planned on leaving him behind to be devoured by the wraiths so the party could make their escape. But Roda decides against this. He uses his owl totem to save Robin in the knick of time and orders it to fly as fast and far away as possible... A dumb move because now he has lost his totem and Robin was sure to die after the owl inevitably turned back into a totem and fell out of the sky.
Poor Robin.

However, the adventure must go on. The party take Lucius with them to Nupstedt as their prisoner. As it is getting late they decide to set up camp in the city itself, making a small shelter for them in one of the many allys.
In the morning they go off to get some breakfast and buy some rotiserie chicken. Roda gets scammed by a mysterious fortune teller, telling him to come visit her circle of fortune in the woods that night. After all these morning shenanigans the party takes Lucius out into the woods again for a brutal interrogation where they beat and torture the old man only to then kill him after they're done. Meanwhile Roda ate a mysterious onion that seemed to have appeared out of nowhere, presented by the onion knight. A bad move it turns out as he is now cursed and has turned into an onion man himself.
They talk a little more with Franklin who gives them all sorts of info about Walter and the PD before finally returning to town, leaving Lucius' body out there to rot. As they explore Nupstedt they meet Kodak, a dwarven photographer who wanted to take a picture of them but gets scared after seeing Roda's mutated vampire teeth, causing him to make a run for it. Roda also gets a mysterious note about a doctor's appointment while guys walk around the city in search of Oswin.
This is where the story ends for now.
