The Silverbell Wilds
The Silverbell Wilds are so named for the species of puffwort unique to the forest that grows at its edges. The puffs droop downward and form a bell shape, giving the impression of thousands of silvery bells dancing at the edge of the Wilds.
Geography
The Silverbell Wilds are the largest forest on Honovi. The span almost the entire northern half of the continent, from the highlands west of the Beaugrave Mountains to the Whispering Coast. They stretch over hills and flatlands and hide lakes and rivers beneath the spread of their canopy.
However, the Wilds are very old and very magical. Their geography is not limited to that which is native to the Material Plane. Legends of treetop cities that only appear once every 500 years, or trees that double in size during the full moon, or rivers that flow into a different plane run rampant in and around the history of the Wilds.
Fauna & Flora
The Wilds are home to thousands of plant and animal species both magic and mundane. Researchers from the University of Gloyvagrad monitor the largest recorded population of owlbears, and sages of the Silverbell Circle provide herbal reagents for potions, tonics, poultices, remedies, and sundry other medicinal or alchemical concoctions for much of Namidee.
Despite extensive research and natural tradition, the Wilds are dense and protective. It is a commonly held belief that every time mortals begin to understand what the forest holds, the forest itself changes. Adventures headed into the Silverbells should be wary of any plants or beasts they encounter and investigate foraged food thoroughly before consuming.
