Zhaminox (Zah-min-nox)
Zhaminox was one of the more advanced civilizations prior to the Great Divide. Leader of technological advancements, and the educators of early Jorn.
The Zhaminox, now referred to as Nox, that once was is no longer. In its place is never-ending darkness, when you look at where it should be, close or far, it looks like something had been ripped out of a picture and left in its place is pure darkness. Very few people venture to Nox now, there have been stories of people who tried to enter this black veil and were never heard of again. The people who have gone near report a high-pitched noise coming from Nox. When approaching the noise it grows progressively louder and more painful. The few people who got close enough to hear the sound are now dead and most have gone insane.
The areas that used to border Nox still show signs of the war. The ground near it is burnt and gray, smoke is still rising out of fires that have been going on ever since the start of the war, the bodies that were saved from the initial destruction still lie there, unrotting, with blood as fresh as the day it was drawn. With the low constant drone of the high pitch noise from across the rivers, many people don't go near. Many people are constantly reminded of everything that was sacrificed, all for nothing.
Geography
Pre- Great Divide
Due to Zahminox's location, when the water was still running, it was the ideal location. Near the warmth of Krak and the resources provided by Vire. This allowed for the people to prosper. Zhaminox's city, Tijar, rivaled the size of Qasi. The people of Tijar were all working on advancing their society, not out of greed, but out of the want to help others. Quite the opposite of Qasi.
This area had rolling plains and incredibly slow growth, even before the war.
Localized Phenomena
Pre- Great Divide
Despite Zhaminox's air of timelessness, they were constantly advancing. Making almost unrealistic strides through technology and magic. Some credited this to the willpower that the people held, others believe that there was more to it.
Post- Great Divide
From the outside there is nothing, no one has been able to get inside to see if there even is an inside. Where Nox now stands, the air around it is heavy, almost suffocating, and the light that the Great Tree offers seems to be completely absorbed by it. If one is able to get past the noise their next obstacle would be the darkness.
Natural Resources
This area offered new technology and provided higher education for the rest of Nakut'yun. Because of the plains, there was also wildlife to hunt and sell.
History
Relations with neighbors
The people of Zhaminox had the ideology to help others in need over their own needs. This is what drove them to help the people of Jorn, create new inventions, and create systems that benefited all parties. They respected the wilds and only took what was needed and never attempted to go further than necessary. Because of their location, they were home to major trading areas and had travelers constantly going through. This helped them with their creations.
When the time came to fight against the injustice that they and the other countries were facing they were the ones who led the charge.
Tourism
Trade
Zhaminox was in a prime location for trade between Jorn and the other countries, a great place for fair prices due to the intricate trade system. With many people settling here or visiting it made for a perfect place for vendors and shops
Education
Zhaminox provided higher education for all those across Nakut'yun. Free of charge, they wanted everyone to help further the progress of invention, and allow people who have the passion for learning to have that available to them. They had a university that was taught by the leading inventors when they had time as well as offering a vast library for people to use.
Better Life
The location of Zhaminox and all that it had going for it made it a place ideal for living. People with grand ideas came here in hopes of bringing them to life or finding others that could help them achieve what they wanted. Even the people who had no desire for education moved here in hopes of work and better opportunities. The people that lived there always helped each other, anyone who went against Zhaminox ideology was turned away and were banned from living there. This didn't mean they couldn't enter, they just weren't allowed to stay.
Country Relations
Post-war Zhaminox has no interactions or relations with other countries, simply because they cannot.
Pre-war, Zhaminox was the main trade center. The trade route ran through their main city, Tijar.
