The Teyefas
The Teyefas is a Febari matchmaking tradition. While it is decreasing in popularity, it is still quite common for Febari youth to take part. The ceremony is conducted by a Teya, which is a Febari fortune teller who also serves as a matchmaker, who matches young people together based on their answers to certain questions. In the past, the Teya's word wasn't questioned and the two would marry. However, in modern Naikwan, the Teya's choice is often taken as only a suggestion and those who undertake the Teyefas do it more out of tradition than actually looking to marry.
Execution
During an individual's Teyefas, they will sit behind a curtain, screen, or other room divider and be interviewed by the Teya. Neither the Teya or the individual will see each other during the process. The Teya then takes the information learned from the interview and matches them with another individual with similar answers. In the past, people who were matched would marry. Now, it is much more common for the individuals to simply go on a date, if that. When a match is made, which can take a while, the Teya will notify those involved of their findings, and the individuals can decide how to proceed from there.
Participants
The main component of the ceremony is the Teya. The Teya is an individual, often trained in some form of Mind Magic, who interviews people and attempts to set them up with similar people. The Teya is taught what kind of questions to ask to get the most honest answers, and also often uses some form of telepathy to get answers they aren't given freely. The Teya then compiles a psychological profile of the person, and tries to find a complimentary profile.
