Soulstealer

Every living creature has a soul. That soul is made up of two parts. The first, known as your ethereal soul, is the part of your soul that defines who you are. It contains your indentity, your memories, your beliefs and so much more. The other half of your soul, is your binding soul. This part of your soul connects your ethereal soul to your body by supplying it with life energy from the Noglien, the tree of life. A soulstealer has the rare ability to separate someone's ethereal and binding soul (by killing the other), and attaching the bind to their own soul. Through this, they are granting themselves a "safety net", as if they were to die or be killed, their ethereal soul would be rebound to their physical body as a new binding soul took the place of the old, healing and restoring the body of the individual in the process. Through this condition, the soulstealer becomes effectively "immortal" so long as they have extra binding souls to replace their own.   There are currently 2 types of soulstealer.
  1. False Soulstealers. These are beings that are able to collect the life energy, the binding soul, of their victims, but are incapable of utilizing this life energy to resurrect themselves if they were to die. Instead, they can syphon off the life energy to use in powerful magical attacks and spells in replace for their own magic stores. Known examples: Dragons, vampires, various demons
  2. True Soulstealers. A true soulstealer can not only absorb the life force of their victims, but utilize that same energy to resurrect themselves after death. This resurrections heals their physical body of most injuries, illnesses, and other negative effects like poison or magical spells/enchantments. However, if the soulstealer were to lose too many souls in too short of a time, their body and mind will gradually become more irritated and aggressive, before breaking down into a primal rage, where their only drive is to consume as many souls as possible. Souls like to live, and the soul of a soulstealer is especially greedy. This unfortunate side effect also limits the soulstealers ability to end their own life, as many consecutive deaths will cause the Soul Rage to trigger, and the rage will not pass until more souls have been consumed than lost. The only way to truly die is to run out of souls naturally, through old age or simply never acquiring another soul in the first place. Known example: Rhogar Torrin
