Spirit of Death Decay and Darkness

Necrosis is one of the two main spirits within the spirit world. Shamans of Necrosis believe that death is the natural pathway through which everyone's spirit progresses. They believe that death can be a mercy in some cases. Although they do not necessarily promote the killing of creatures, they do have a duty to allow creatures' spirits to progress. Necrosis has a rather sinister side to their personality. Decay is a slow and sometimes painful process, and Necrosis enjoys this drawn-out death. It is, however, reserved for that creature who has deviated from their path to death. For example, someone who has kept themselves alive falsely with magic will probably have to endure decay to provide payment for Necrosis. Decay can be used on physical structures, but this is only used as a last resort, and the shaman will have some questions to answer when they next enter their trance and commune with Necrosis.   Beliefs:
  • death and decay are natural processes and they come to everything eventually
  • darkness is just the absence of light. It should not be feared
  • when we die, our spirit returns to the spirit world to be reborn again in a different form

  • Oaths:
  • We shall not fear death or darkness - fear is for those who do not believe that Necrosis is with them.
  • We shall provide a rite of passage for all those who die to the spirit world.
  • We will encourage spirits to return to the presence of Necrosis

  • Restrictions:
  • Announce your alliance to Necrosis through your attire and tattoos
  • Always attempt to lay the dead to rest.
  • Disdain wealth - no animist of Necrosis will need wealth after death
