While wearing these slippers, ordinary rats (including giant rats and swarms of rats) are indifferent toward you and will not attack you unless you threaten or harm them. Furthermore, you can use a bonus action to speak the slippers' command word to transform into a rat (as if by the polymorph spell) until the end of your next turn; your alignment, Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma scores are unchanged for the duration of the spell. You return to your normal form early if you drop to 0 hit points or if you choose to end the effect (no action required). If there isn't enough space for you to return to your normal form, you immediately take 1d10 force damage and are magically returned to the nearest unoccupied space from which you came. This property of the slippers can be used twice, and they regain any expended uses daily at dawn.
