The Feast Hall

A cavernous banquet hall designed for silent diplomatic feasts and treaty celebrations, where agreements are forged and bonds strengthened without spoken word.

Purpose / Function

Always intended as a grand hall for formal gatherings, it grew into a site for silent diplomatic banquets in line with Aurenos’s doctrines. Here, sign language, gesture, and respectful telepathy govern all dealings.

Design

Long basalt tables arranged in concentric arcs around a central lava-lit stage. Hanging pyrestone chandeliers emit soft, shifting orange light. The floor is laid with mosaics depicting past treaties.

Entries

Wide double doors lead from main palace corridors, flanked by Emberguard. Side servant corridors allow meals to be delivered by silent attendants.

Sensory & Appearance

A gentle ambient warmth. The scent of seared spices and molten glass. The room is lit evenly, with only the occasional flicker from rune sconces. Silence dominates, punctuated by polite hand signs and shared mental images.

Denizens

Noble houses, foreign diplomats, Order monks acting as psychic interpreters, silent servants gliding through with trays of delicacies.

Contents & Furnishings

  • Basalt dining tables set with gemstone inlays.
  • Stone goblets enchanted to resonate with subtle thought-impressions, often used for toasts.
  • Ornate lava channels forming elegant glowing borders around the room.

Special Properties

Silent toasts performed here resonate across the room, creating temporary illusions above the diners that reflect collective intentions or agreements.

Alterations

Reconfigured ~200 years ago to support larger diplomatic gatherings after major trade alliances were first struck with Virellia.

Architecture

Grand flame-style arches, richly veined with pyrestone. Elaborate reliefs of past feast pacts climb the walls.
