Ignis
Supreme Sovereign Ignis
Ignis is the Supreme Sovereign of Embergarde — a flame elf of immense presence, whose very aura seems to ripple with contained power. Crowned two decades ago after a fiercely contested succession, he embodies both the smoldering patience and the sudden fury of the flame. Under his reign, Embergarde has grown more unified than it has been in centuries, while still respecting the silent tenets of Aurenos.

Mental characteristics
Personal history
- Born during a rare eclipse over the Heart of Cinders — interpreted by the Order as a mark of divine favor.
- Trained from youth by silent monks in psychic communion and advanced forging philosophy.
- Became Crown at age ~60 after outmaneuvering older claimants through both ritual contests and political alliances.
- Has since spent ~20 years consolidating Embergarde’s unity, patronizing great rune works, and tightening the spiritual pact with the Order.
Education
Received rigorous instruction in rune theory, flame elf diplomatic traditions, and the silent histories of the Order. Trained also by dragonborn tacticians in the strategy halls of Emberforge.
Employment
Has only ever prepared for and served as monarch, with earlier years spent as a ward in various high forges and Order sanctums.
Accomplishments & Achievements
- Unified fractious forge houses under new mutual pacts.
- Oversaw expansion of the Runeblood Arena’s ritual duels to reinforce alliances.
- Sanctioned creation of the massive ley conduits beneath the palace, linking directly to the Hall of the Eternal Forger.
Failures & Embarrassments
- Some see his reign as overly tied to the Order, leading to whispered accusations of spiritual tyranny.
- Early in his rule, failed to prevent a costly border skirmish with Lilted Vale spellknights over a ley node, though later mended relations.
Mental Trauma
Carries lingering internal weight from the ruthless succession contest; several close kin died in “trials of flame” that left lasting psychic scars.
Intellectual Characteristics
Brilliant in matters of silent diplomacy and ley-magic philosophy. A deft manipulator of ritual and symbol. Struggles with empathy on small, personal scales, more comfortable directing masses than comforting individuals.
Morality & Philosophy
Believes absolutely in Aurenos’s doctrine of creation through disciplined thought — sees silence as the highest moral expression. Will tolerate calculated cruelty if it leads to greater unity and strength for Embergarde.
Taboos
Finds loud emotional outbursts almost physically painful to witness; considers them breaches of sacred order. Rejects any attempts to scry his private thoughts as profound violation.

Harbors a secret pride that sometimes borders on hubris, convinced that his rule is divinely foreordained and that dissent is not just disloyal but spiritually misguided.
Personality Quirks
When thinking deeply, his hair coils upward and forms looping flame shapes as though sketching concepts in the air.
Representation & Legacy
Still living, but already depicted in reliefs throughout Emberforge as a towering silent figure surrounded by abstract flame patterns — the new symbol of the kingdom’s golden age.
