The City Built in a Day

Once a decade during Abel's Sacred Race against Sol, Couatl build a city in a day.  At the midpoint of the race is the Oasis of Yang. Emanating around this sacred land Couatl make temporary housing and sell their wares. For ten days they dance, drink, mate, and sell wares.
This is a common time that many Couatls finish their journeys and show off their crafts. Many young Couatls hope to find their mates, as this is when their young adults are at their peak. Because of this the populations of Couatls booms the year afterwards, and many youngsters are kicked out on their journeys to compensate for the extra mouths that need feeding.
