Vairon: The Weaver of Fate

Vairon (a.k.a. Weaver of Fate)

Vairon is the weaver of fate, who sees all as it happens and weaves it into tapestries that line the halls of her husband, Feantur. Unlike him, she cannot see the future, but only things that are presently happening. She can tug on the threads of fate as she weaves them, slightly influencing events as they happen, and some pray to her for aid, but she does not often interfere. She feels pity for mortals, but she understands Fate as they do not, and she will not change what she cannot stop. Her tapestries are filled with sorrow, for the word is full of it. And her pity for mortals draws her to immortalize their sorrow in great beauty. She did not actively participate in the Rending, but she tweaked the threads of Fate in favor of the Powers where she could, and her Sylvar were closely aligned to her husband’s reapers.   Vairon is one of the lesser Powers, not often worshipped but often invoked during times of need. Some pray to her rather than her husband, pleading for her to intercede. Shrines to Vairon are often homemade and littered with woven offerings to the weaver.

Spool of Thread

Tenets of Faith

The threads of Fate weave throughout our lives, binding together the good and the bad in ways we cannot always see.   Events are still in flux while happening, a thread can always be placed into a different spot in the tapestry creating a new story.   What is already woven cannot be unmade. What has happened has happened, and cannot be undone.   There is beauty in all things, even the most sorrowful and dark, though we cannot see the picture until the tapestry is complete.
