Taron: The Lord of the Hunt

Taron is a mighty lord, less strong than his brother in law, but far more dreadful in anger. He loves the mortal lands, and often passes east over the mountains, returning with his host to the hills and plains. He is a hunter of monsters and fell beasts, and he delights in horses and hounds. He loves all trees, and is called the Lord of Forests. His great horse, Malathar, shines like silver in the moonlight, and white in the sun, and his mane and tail are of gold mixed with silver. He can outrun all mortal beasts and is the lord of all horses. They come and go at his bidding, and those of Taron’s own herd, which come from Stalwart’s bloodline are better than all horses of the Mortal Realm, in appearance, speed, strength, and intelligence. Likewise, his hunting hounds, bred in his halls are larger, stronger, and more intelligent than mortal hounds. Taron’s hunting horn, the Hunter’s Call sounds like the going up of the Sun, or the sheer lightning cleaving the clouds, and is heard above all the horns of his host. He rides in the deep forests of the Earth, pursuing all evil creatures of Tirzaan. He is tall and bearded, eyes flashing with a deadly anger, but he loves all good beings, and takes especial pride in those who hunt evil, giving them aid.   Taron is the patron of all adventurers and those who make it their business to hunt evildoers, and as such has temples and shrines wherever civilization can be found. He is also the patron of those who breed and train horses and hounds, and any beasts said to be descended in any way from his herds are highly prized. His priests are often retired adventurers, and they will give aid and shelter to any who are in pursuit of evil.
