Hafarad Tree
The silver-gold, towering masters of the Pheames Forest.
Basic Information
Anatomy
The Hafarad has silver leaves with a golden underside, and bark that is a smooth golden-brown. The trees are massive, stretching upwards for hundreds of feet, with trunks at least thirty feet around. The branches spread outward in beautiful, tangled masses, twisting around each other almost in the manner of a work of art.
Growth Rate & Stages
The Hafarad grows from a palm sized, silver acorn, which remains under the earth for three months before a shoot appears. The sapling takes about 20 years to reach maturity, and can continue growing for hundreds of years.
Ecology and Habitats
The Hafarad thrives in a temperate environment, with mild showers and a magical essence in the air.
Additional Information
Uses, Products & Exploitation
The Hafarad is used by animals for shelter and protection, and is rumored to be used by Elves as a location for their buildings. Their golden-brown wood is used sparingly by the Elves for building homes and shields, with buildings, more often than not, magically grown out of the living tree rather than built.
