Allanna: Lady of Spring
Allanna (a.k.a. Lady of Spring)
Allana is the younger sister of Yavanna and thus shares her love for growing things. Her personal favorites however are the flowers which spring open as she passes and the songbirds who sing as she comes. She is ever young, appearing barely eighteen years old, and her dress is of sheer green, her hair golden and crowned with flowers, and she walks barefoot on the grass in the Immortal realm. Her glance brings warmth to all, and she brings Spring in her wake, chasing away the cold storms of winter. She is gentle and kind to all who appreciate the beauty in nature, and is revered by all who look forward to the mild weather of Spring.
There is not much of an organized religion built around Allanna, but she is almost universally revered and prayed to towards the end of winter, when everyone is hoping for the return of warmer weather. There are Spring feasts and festivals all across the country, each town putting its own spin on it, but all including flower crowns and the releasing of songbirds. Many farmers build small shrines to her in their homes before winter’s first snow, praying for an early spring all season long.
