Field Goblins
Known in their own tongue as the Rootkin.
They dwell underground beneath the Great Fields. Field Goblins use an elaborate system of tunnels to quickly traverse the Great Fields without being spotted. They greatly value their community.
Elder Field Goblins are often referred to as Eagles. This is due to the Giant Eagle bein a creature that preys on lone Field Goblins, and only the bravest of them are able to take down such a mighty beast.
Their diet mostly consists of root vegetables, bugs, fungi and small mammals & birds.
Most Field Goblin dwellings do not easily accomodate creatures taller than 5' 3", as they are built with their own kind in mind. That is, unless said goblins are friendly with a nearby settlement of a different species, in this case they would have built special areas near the surface for visitors to occupy.
Trade partners receive a bountiful amount of root alcohol, this being one of their main exports. Each burrow fiercely guards their own recipe.
In appearance their skin ranges from brown to green hues, and they have large pointy ears, these help them keep dirt off of their body.
