The Chromaticon
Overview
The Chromaticon is the holy book of the Faith of Scael. The original was said to be written by Scael, the first High Cleric. Inside the hallowed tome was personal sayings, sage advice, warnings, parables, and most importantly, a single spell: Era of the Gods. While copies were made, many were destroyed during the reign of the Solar Empire from 6000 BA to 5000 BA. In 5755 BA, the original Chromaticon was destroyed along with the last High Cleric during a battle with a wicked dragon, Asdaelger the Ancient, and with it, the spell mentioned above. Now, very few copies reamain, hoarded by sages and erudites. but there are whispers, rumours, even a snippet of a captured conversation, all saying one thing: The Chromaticon survived the battle with Asdaelger, and it lies somewhere within the Shardstone Forest.Look
The Chromaticon is said to have been bound in leather from the Gods own herds, with Adamant binding and the cover embossed in gold, with the personal crest of Scael, which has been lost to us. The pages were said to be made of the finest vellum, with the ink of a Kraken inscribed on the pages. Supposedly, it glowed with a soft, white-golden light that soothed those who were suffering. The High Cleric
The High Cleric was the person responsible for the wellfare of the Faith of Scael. Once you became the High Cleric, you held the office for life. The High Cleric's duties included going around and healing the sick, teaching and spreading the faith, offering counsel to world leaders, and diffusing tensions between warring nations. Unfortunatly, the last High Cleric was slain in the battle with Asdaelger, thus leading to teh Chromaticon supposedly being destroyed.Mechanics & Inner Workings

Significance
It is the single most important relic in the Faith of Scael
The Shardstone Forest
This dense, shadowy forest covers a good 1/8 of the Aegial Empire. It got it's name because of the sprawling cave systems beneath the towering tree trunks, and those caves are filled with precious minerals and gems. However, during the battle with Asdaelger, the amount of energy unleashed by the fighting and Asdaelger's death, forever tainted the forest, and its denizens. Now, strange and twisted creatures roam the eerie, foogy woods, lit by clumps of crystals growing throughout the forest.
Era of the Gods
This spell was rumoured to bestow incredible power on the caster, giving them the ability to harness the power of the gods themselves. However, this power came with a price. Whoever used it, would be eternally marked, scarred by the incredible power that coursed through them, and suffer serious side effects such as crippeling pain, deblitating visions, and gradually drive the caster insane.
Asdaelger the Ancient
Asdaelger the Ancient was a 900 year old Lightning Dragon, and was renowned for his incredible strength and intellect. He was very cruel, and proud too. He most famously killed his rival, Draxin the Red, a Fire Dragon, and commander to the First Dragon of Fire, Morfaell, and stole his hoard, which was worth over 10,000 platinum pieces. After his death, Eduri Tressmoore of the Karthonian Raiders, founded the Drago-Hunters from Asdaelger's hoard.
