Wood Elf

Wood Elves, a distinct and enigmatic race within the realm of Mystria, possess several unique characteristics that set them apart from other fantastical beings. Known for their sharp pointed predator teeth, Wood Elves typically refrain from displaying their teeth when interacting with others, as this can be off-putting to those unfamiliar with their physiology. Instead, they often convey their emotions and expressions through closed-mouth smiles, ensuring a more approachable demeanor.   Wood Elves are deeply connected to their communities, and at the heart of each tribe lies a sacred entity known as the Heart Tree. This ancient and revered tree forms a profound bond with the Wood Elf tribe, shaping their appearances and imbuing them with distinct qualities. Depending on the type of tree the Wood Elves commune with, their physical characteristics and attributes can vary greatly.   For instance, a tribe that forms a bond with a Birch tree undergoes a transformation, acquiring a complexion characterized by white skin with dark gray or black patches adorning their joints and encircling their eyes. In contrast, those who establish a bond with a towering Sequoia tree experience a different metamorphosis. They grow taller than the average Wood Elf, and their skin takes on a deep brown-red hue, evoking the rich tones of the mighty tree itself.   The Heart Tree holds immense significance for the Wood Elves, as it sustains their vitality and spiritual well-being. In the unfortunate event that the Heart Tree is destroyed, the tribe experiences a severe and devastating backlash. Many Wood Elves succumb to this tragedy, losing their lives outright. Those who manage to survive are left weak and sickly, enduring months or even years of suffering until a new bond is formed with another Heart Tree. The process of bonding with a new Heart Tree is essential for the survival of Wood Elves, as they gradually regain their strength and connection to the mystical forces of the forest.   This intricate link between Wood Elves and their Heart Trees underscores their profound dependency on the natural world. It emphasizes the delicate balance that exists between the race and the environment they inhabit, as well as the repercussions of disrupting this harmony. The Wood Elves' fate is intrinsically tied to the fate of their Heart Trees, and their collective well-being hinges on nurturing and protecting these sacred arboreal companions.   In summary, Wood Elves in Mystria are characterized by their distinctive predator teeth and their close ties to their tribal communities and the Heart Trees within them. Their physical appearances and traits vary depending on the type of tree they bond with, offering a visually captivating range of diversity. The destruction of a Heart Tree brings severe consequences, including the potential loss of life for Wood Elves and prolonged periods of weakness and sickness. The Wood Elves' existence relies on the symbiotic relationship they maintain with their sacred trees, showcasing their deep connection to the natural world and the inherent fragility of their race.

Basic Information

Anatomy

All Wood Elves have sharp pointed predator teeth, due to this most Wood Elves will not 'smile' to show their teeth, they may smile with their mouth's clothes though even this may put others off.   Wood Elves belong to communities and the heart of the community is the Heart Tree which the tribe bonds with. Depending on the type of tree the Wood Elves will take on different qualities and appearances. A tribe that bonds with a Birch will develop white skin with dark gray or black patches at joints and around their eyes, while a tribe that bonds with a great Sequoia will become taller than average with deep brown-red skin. Should the Heart Tree be destroyed the tribe with all suffer severe backlash that may outright kill a tribesman, those that survive will be sick and weak for months or years until the tribe or individual is able to bond with a new Heart Tree. A Wood Elf will eventually die should they be unable to bond with a Heart Tree.
