The Terra System
The Terra System. Our home amongst the stars. Each and every one of us looks to the heavens in awe and wonder of what secrets and mysteries could possibly lie in the blackness of space.
According to astronomers who have studied the stars, we share our solar system, the Terra System with several other planets. The first planet to be charted and confirmed was Morrow, the Violet Star , which shines in our night sky as a bright violet star. The next star to be charted would be Sumervale, the bright red star. Jupale was an easy one to chart, for according to the astronomers, it is a massive planet, even larger than Terr'ahna! And all of these were charted in just a few years back in 2017 of the Third Age to 2026 of the Third Age, just after the telescope was first invented in 2002 of the Third Age.
But then, late in the year of 2114 of the Third Age, astronomers were all abuzz about something big. The headlines all read, "Have we discovered another planet?" Something new seemed to suddenly appear in our night sky that hadn't been noticed before. For years astronomers studied it and researched it extensively. Until the year 2119 of the Third Age, word was finally released. NEW WORLD DISCOVERED! It was called Gravi'tana. A curious name, which meant 'sister world' in ancient Almahnan.
But what apparently took so long for them to confirm was speculation over whether this world was actually in fact similar to Terr'ahna, with a similar atmosphere. It is smaller than our world, but they did confirm that yes, Gravi'tana has a similar atmosphere and composition to Terr'ahna.
Ecosystem Cycles
Each of the planets in the Terra System revolve around Sola, a singular yellow sun at the centre. But depending on their position in the system, how far out from Sola they are, it may take a shorter amount of time or a longer amount of time compared to Terr'ahna.
Astronomers have long deduced, since it was confirmed back in the late Second Age that yes Terr'ahna revolves around Sola, not the other way around, that it takes approximately 1 year for our world to complete one revolution. However, Morrow, being much closer to Sola, takes around half the time, while Gravi'tana, while being very similar to Terr'ahna in many ways, takes only 7 or 8 months, as opposed to 9 for Terr'ahna.
However, Sumervale is much further away from Sola, and takes around 12 months to complete one revolution, and Jupale takes the longest at 16 months.
