Celesteon, the Sky City
Celesteon is an island of sorts which floats in the sky, following the air currents in the upper atmosphere. The air here is thin, so only races and creatures with a special evolutionary advantage which allows them to breathe this thin air, can live here. There are only 2 races with this special adaptation. The Dragla, a race of dragonic humanoids, the oldest and wisest of all races; and the Yaglaw, a race of bird-like humanoids who claim to have a birthright to rule over Celesteon.
At one time, over a thousand years past, the Dragla and the Yaglaw used to live together in harmony on this island in the sky. That is until the Yaglaw betrayed the Dragla, forcing them out of the white palace of Celesteon, and banishing them to the surface world. The Dragla left peacefully, wishing not to start a confrontation with their sky brethren. And so today, the Dragla live peacefully with the humans and the other races of the surface world, taking refuge in several parts of the world, but mainly Almahna, the desert continent.
But this has not stopped parts of the Dragla population, who believe they have a right to live in their homeland in Celesteon, from forming a coalition and beginning a long raging war with the Yaglaw, much to the displeasure of the Draglan Elders. To this day, this war rages on. And Celesteon has suffered greatly from it. No longer is it the beautiful white palace of the sky it once was. Now it lives on as a pile of ruins and debris, a reminder to all that war changes everyone. And everything.
Geography
The island is surrounded on all sides by a natural craggy mountain barrier, called the Skein Mountains. The landscape through out the island is lush and green with wide open grassy plains with small forests scattered through out, broken up by several lakes and ponds. There is a river running from the western coast of the island to a small pond afront of the Skrawk Mountains, where the capital of Celesteon, Skei City lies.
In the northwest of the island lies a massive basin of water called Airvulk Basin with a waterfall that rains down through the clouds below. Built into the Skein Mountains on either side of the waterfall from Airvulk Basin are two large lookout towers.
Ecosystem Cycles
Celesteon has a very temperate climate and normal stable seasons for the most part. Being so far up in the sky, there are rarely ever storms or anything of the sort up here.
Localized Phenomena
Around the island of Celesteon are several air currents, called the sky rivers formed from the larger air currents that get broken up along the mountain ranges. Yeglaw will often use these for extra lift while flying.
Climate
Celesteon has a very temperate climate with some wind gusts once in a while, as the air currents crash against the Skein Mountains.
Fauna & Flora
There are various flora that can not be found anywhere on the surface which only grow here in Celesteon, such as various extremely large flowers called Skrik Blooms. However, these should not be mistaken with the Mystimon that look like extremely large flowers, Kolnott, also common in Celesteon, and found no where on the surface.
The People
The Yeglaw used to share this island with the Dragla, until they betrayed and banished them to the surface. But they still have to deal with the Tenderbears, otherwise known as Orsine, which will often drive them nuts. But then that was compounded when all of the children's dolls and puppets suddenly awoke, giving rise to the Puffet. Could it possibly get worse?
Natural Resources
Perhaps one of the reasons for the Yeglaw's actions, kicking the Dragla off Celesteon, might have been for the various natural resources on the island, such as Rengonite, a metal ore only found in Skein Mountains. Or perhaps it was for the rich Mystia crystal deposts? We may never know why they did it.
History
Once, long ago, the Dragla also lived in Celesteon alongside the Yeglaw and Orsine. That was of course until the Yeglawni Uprising in the early Second Age, when the Yeglaw mounted a rebellion and took the entire island for themselves, and forced the Dragla off their homeland to the surface.
Tourism
The air is thin here and transportation up to Celesteon is hard to come by since airships still can't make the trip, so tourism is not likely.

Homeland of the Yeglaw and the ancestral home of the Dragla, Celesteon consists of a chain of islands floating in the air, up in the upper atmosphere of Terr'ahna. No one truly knows why or how Celesteon floats in the air, mostly because the Yeglaw have closed their borders and currently, no airship can reach it.
