Aerior

Small white birds which mostly live around coastlines and bays, Aeriors have long been seen as a part of life for some, and a nuisance by others. They will eat just about anything, which might be why Vikarahn loathe them. There are flocks of them usually around the Vikarahn docks in Highwind, feasting on the barrels full of fish the Vikarahn bring ashore, and constantly they have to shoo them off. Recently however, they have begun using a rather ingenious solution to keep the Aeriors at bay. One that doesn't hurt them, as much as they would like to, only keeps them from getting to the fish: metal fabric covers for the barrels.   They are small white birds with a long beak with a slight hook on the tip. Sometimes they have black or even bluish strips along their back and tail feathers. Their eyesight is not nearly as good as Hawkeyes, but their sense of smell is among the best among all Flier Mystimon.

Basic Information

Biological Traits

Colour

They are classified as Wind colour.

Ecology and Habitats

They live mostly around coastlines and bays, but they have also been known to fly further inland. Their primary food source is usually fish, but they will eat just about anything.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Their primary food source is typically fish, but they will eat just about anything. For the most part they scavenge, and love to scavenge on the scraps left behind by civilization.

Additional Information

Social Structure

They live in large family groups or flocks. They are very social birds and if separated from their flock, they may become depressed. If Imprinted though, they appear to view their owner as their flock and adapt very well. The flock will usually form around larger Aeriorps or Aericons, the Evo forms of Aerior.

Domestication

They have particularly adapted to people presence so that they are largely docile around people.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

They are found all over the world. They seem to love the shores of Highwind though, much to the chagrin of the Vikarahns there.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Their eyesight is not very good, but their sense of smell is amongst the best of all Flier Mystimon.

Discovery

Aeriors are so common, and always have been widespread, that it was never really a matter of discovery. Simply documentation. Doctor Ivan Sanderson began his career on observing Flier Mystimon, what some would call bird watching, and some of his favourite to observe were the Aeriors on the docks of Sapphire Port. He noted how interesting he found their social patterns and their symbiotic relationship with people. He would eventually take his techniques honed on observing Aeriors and other Flier Mystimon to his work on other Mystimon around the world and eventually establishing the Mystiary.
