Snake Fang Hill
Snake Fang Hill sits to the east of Gulade. Dominating the landscape as the highest point in the small valley, one can see for miles around the surrounding area standing atop it. The hill has a wide base to the northwest that sharpens to a point at the southeast. This, accompanied with some local legends, has earned it its name. Some locals fear the location, claiming that dark magic still remains from a time long ago.
Geography
The surrounding plains steadily rise into a sharp incline at the edge of the hill. The point on the southeast of the hill descends to roughly eight acres of natural sandstone canyons. The canyons themselves reach no higher than twenty feet. From the top, someone can see for miles, the greens and yellows of the fields below. Canning Lake can be seen to the southeast; a glimmering disk amongst the shades of farmland surrounding it.
Ecosystem
Burrowing creatures inhabit the surrounding flats around the hill. Small birds pick off insects during the summer months while the occasional hark or eagle do the same with them. Coarse grass stretches up to the top of hill, with small cacti embedding itself in the slopes and top. One in particular takes on a spherical shape and blooms in red and yellow flowers only every few years. Locals will visit the hill top in hopes of finding one of these cacti to harvest and take as beautiful ornament for their home. It is rumored that the flowers have medicinal, and some would say, magical qualities to them.
Localized Phenomena
Summer rains and flood waters produce a bluish colored sandstone found in the canyons on the southeast slope of the hill. Though of no significant value, the phenomena is intriguing to those who live in and visit the area.

History
Legends of Snake Fang Hill talk about an infestation of venomous snakes created by an evil snake deity. The rumor is that the construction of a shrine to Lathander built atop the hill put an end to the relentless spew of legless creatures upon the land. Folks still believe there is an entrance somewhere that leads to a network of tunnels that the snakes originate from.
Tourism
People from the local area and across the countryside will stop to climb the hill and pay homage to Lathander at his shrine. Herbologists come to search the area for specimens of the orbed cactus.
