Velvet solace

Named for its soft red petals as well as its uses in medicine, the Velvet solace is a common flower found all over Terra's fields.   It is also known as the feel-better flower.   While the flower itself is quite beautiful and its bright coloration makes it easy to spot, this flower's true worth is found beneath the earth. The flower grows incredibly large and thick roots which hold the desired nutrients. In fact, these roots are so large, the flower is usually found in an isolated patch as nothing seems capable of growing nearby.   The flower is identifiable by its six large red petals. Three sprouting from the top while three more grow beneath the top layer. Its center holds three distinct yellow pistils with rounded tips. The stem is long, thin and covered in small leaves adorned with a striped pattern moving from the center outwards. Lastly, the titular roots, when cleaned up from the dirt, are spherical and covered in lumps. The exterior is a slight shade lighter than that of the earth it was buried in and the interior is a pale green with an array of rings lining the width of the root's insides.   The Velvet solace's petals are soft to the touch. Some compare it to the wool of a sheep's back. Meanwhile, the plant offers next to no fragrance. Placing the flower directly to your nose, you may get a hint of sweetness.   While many cultivate this specimen for its medicinal benefits, the top of this plant goes largely unused. That being said, its large frame still makes for an impressive piece of decoration adored by many. (Especially for some with more sensitive senses of smell!)
