Thickwood Tree

Part of Torovaur's beautiful scenery, second only to the Tallheight tree.

Properties

Material Characteristics

Short, round and wide trees found inhabiting the ground floors of Torovaur's woods. These resemble bushes more than any trees, but are trees nonetheless.

Physical & Chemical Properties

The Thickwood tree's trunk much wider than it is tall. Reaching no more than an average height of 7 meters, but sporting an impressive wight of around 2.5 to 3 meters in diameter, it does not take much imagination to figure out how it got its name. Similar to its native brother, the Tallheight tree, the trunk has a burgundy color, but with light brown stripes instead of spots. The top breaks out into short branches which then sprout strange leaves unique to the Thickwood. The green leaves grow straight up, widening as it reaches higher until it spreads outward looking almost like an opened hand.

Geology & Geography

Unique to the forests of the Torovaur Region.

History & Usage

Everyday use

The effort to cut through one of these threes is simply not worth the effort. Instead, it has long served as a way to guide oneself through the forest. Using such a big surface, anyone could paint or carve directions or a message into the bark to help them and others find their way.
