The Great lake Gracelyn

The largest lake in all of Terra and ancestral home of the Lemouille.

Geography

The great lake Gracelyn defines the Heindenselm Region. Hundreds of different animals and even monsters call its waters home including the Lemouille people. According to Lemouillite historians, the deepest part of the lake measures an impressive 89 metres and is located somewhere around the lake's center. The lake is also home to two massive islands: Meliscid isle near the center and Rosewater island to the West. To the North-West of the lake, we have the Eastern side of Endpoint ridge, a small nameless forest and the expensive wilderness beyond. Down to the South-West of the lake, the tip of Endpoint ridge can be seen connecting to the wetlands of Northern Middterh. Lying between the wetlands and the edge of the lake is a long open field where the lake flows outward into a river which will carry its waters well into Middterh. The Township of Alnexia can also be found near this river. Moving Northward from the lake's center, a long segmented mountain range erupts from the edge of the of the water turning into a plateau named ???. To the South, the main path to and from Lumeria runs parallel to the lake. The path stops at a small village serving as a halfway marker for travelers. Otherwise, it is largely more empty fields. Finally, the North-East down to the South-East consists of one giant plateau curving around the entire Eastern portion of the lake (where the city of Lumeria is found) From up above the plateau, a series of waterfalls feed the lake the largest of them all known as the Everflow.

History

Centuries ago, even before the war, it thought that the Heindenselm Region began and ended at the edge of the Great lake. When and why this has been changed to include parts of the land is unknown.   Being the home of the aquatic Lemouille people, the lake is home to many of their constructs. Unfortunately, once the war ended many of these structures were ruined and some now serve as homes for nasty creatures. Some efforts have been made to reclaim this territory, however, the people of Lumeria have deemed it too great a risk and have abandoned the idea of reconstructing the ruined structures.
