Putridily plant

Also known as 'Bug net', 'Bug catcher' or 'Ass flower'   The Putridily is a charming flower looking plant which secretes a special oil that smells of anything but flowers. It is believe that this species of flora is an unfortunate victim of the cruel mutations caused by dark magic during the war. Chances are this plant would have been forgotten to time if it weren't for one very specific attribute; insects absolutely adore these plants.   Should you ever visit a Burrodonian settlement, it is likely you will spot a field of Putridilies at a respectable distance from the homes. The Burroden, well known insectivores, will endure the smell of the plant if it means they can easily catch countless critters.   The popularity of these plants among the Burroden community has, unsurprisingly, created the expression: "Standing downwind from a Putridily patch." meaning to find yourself in a bad or unfavorable situation.

Properties

Material Characteristics

The Putridily has a long stem measuring an average height of 1.2 meters. The stem and many leaves growing along its length all share a muddy green color. The tip resembles a flower in bloom, though the plant never closes up save for when it finally withers and dies. It's petals are thick and start as with a magenta coloration at the center and end up in a bright yellow a the tips. It secretes a fermented oil from the top covering nearly the whole surface of its petals. The oil will also make its way down the stem.   Bugs are often visible all over the plant from top to bottom.

Compounds

Should you ever try and use the Putridily in cooking or crafting of goods, you will quickly learn never to repeat this mistake. The oil found on the outside of the plant is twice as potent within. Anything coming into contact with this extract seems to rot away at an incredible rate.   We have the morbidly curious to thank for this discovery.

Origin & Source

It is widely believe that the Putridily is a mutation caused by evil magic some 700 years ago during the war. What the plant may have originally looked or smelled like? No one knows and no documentation was ever made. Its first known appearance was made in the Torovaur Region, within the Torodon valley.
