Molgwurm

Catastrophe of the Canyons.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Known as the elder cousin of the Gwurm, Molgwurms share many resemblances to their smaller counterparts. In short, Molgwurms are just larger Gwurms. Much larger Gwurms. They share the same cylindrical bodies starting with a wide head and thinning out to the tail. Unlike the Gwurm, however, a Molgwurm's features are nearly all doubled in some fashion. Beginning with its tail, it retains the four pronged hooks of its brethren, though the Molgwurm's are much thicker. The spines running down the length of their back and sides are split into two rows. The head is comprised of eight individual flap-like mandibles each with two rows of fangs lined underneath them. The Molgwurm's flaps are located in pairs and split apart when it opens its maw. Their true mouths are still located at the every center of their faces and also have a second set of four pointed flaps before reaching the throat. Finally, the Molgwurm has four eyes all lying between the flaps of its outer mouth.

Genetics and Reproduction

Its believed that the Molgwurm may simply be a mutation of the Gwurm. How this happens is unknown.

Ecology and Habitats

Molgwurms have only ever been spotted in the Senholdo Region. Thankfully, they are not terribly common monsters to come across.

Dietary Needs and Habits

The sheer size of a Molgwurm indicates that it requires a large amount of nutrients to survive. In some cases, it has been reported that they will eat Stonebacks whole!
