Lion
The majestic beast of ancient stories.
Basic Information
Anatomy
A large Quadruped mammal known to have been a fearsome hunter. Records state that the Lion had a large head surrounded by a mane of fur. Its maw is large and prominent upon its face and it was said to be lined with sharp teeth. It had a flat triangular nose and small eyes capable of changing its iris. Hidden within its mane, at the top of its head, were two raised and pointed ears. Its four legs were thick and powerful with long retractile claws hidden in its paws. Its entire body was covered in a light beige or even red color all the way down to the tip of its long tail.
Genetics and Reproduction
Aside from being mammals, this aspect of the Lion is unknown.
Growth Rate & Stages
A newborn Lion was known as a cub and is said to have greatly resembled female lions, or lionesses. Males would eventually develop their titular manes at some point during their life.
Ecology and Habitats
All records point to the Lion's habitat to have been exclusively within the Torovaur Region.
Dietary Needs and Habits
All accept the theory that the Lion was in fact a carnivore. As for its choice meal, this may never be determined but, most assume the large animal must have been predator to other animals such as boars, elk and even emus.
Additional Information
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Only traces discovered were in the Torodon valley within the Torovaur Region.

Civilization and Culture
Naming Traditions
Some cases reveal that the Lion has also been referred to as 'Leon' or 'Leo'.
History
Though the Lion has long since been extinct, a sort of offspring lives on in the likeness off the Sauvatta and even the Kaemerak. Comparing descriptions of all three creatures bring to light many similarities that cannot be ignored. Such a shame a wondrous animal had to be replaced with the foul presence of these two horrid creatures.
