Fungmongous

A humongous mushroom found deep within the woods of Torovaur. Easily identifiable by the large bulbous cap. Light brown in color with the top changing to a darker shade. These mushrooms are low to the ground, but surprisingly light.

While the fungmongous mushroom is edible,though it offers little in taste. Instead, it is a popular supplement for other protein rich foods. Because of its size, a single fungmongous can last you a week. (If preserved properly.) The most popular way to consume these massive shrooms are in a soup with herbs and spices. Even the Burroden, typically avoiding any form of cooking, will at least eat parts of a fungmongous with something else. Another popular way to eat it the fungmongous is to roast it over a wood fire. You'd be surprised how much the smoky taste adds to the usually bland taste of the mushroom.

The fungmongous mushroom's primary source of nourishment is protein. Traces of Iron can also be found in the its elemental makeup.

This species of mushroom is only found within the Torovaur Region most likely due to its unique climate.

Once it is uprooted, the fungmongous will stay fresh for no more than two days. In order to preserve it, you must keep it moisturized. The Burroden people will place it in a bowl filled with soil and water and leave it in their kitchens.
