Galdur Rune

Name: Frouron Protate Galdur Rune
  Age: 42
Appearance: Galdur stands tall and strong at a height of 6'2". His dusky skin bears witness to the toll of his training and magical powers, causing him to age faster than other men. His black and grey streaked beard frames a face marked by deep scars, giving his smile a crooked and grim appearance. Sorrow has left its imprint in his sunken, yet hard and serious, eyes. The deep blue color of his eyes is accentuated by yellow lightning bolts that strike through them.
Background: Galdur was given to the Matia by his father, a chieftain from the Border Dunes between Telephos and Nuru. As the youngest son, he was entrusted to the Order while his other brothers perished, leaving one to rule the tribes of the Border Dunes. Embracing the role of a Frouron Protate, Galdur wears the dark grey and maroon lacquered steel armor of his order, meticulously kept clean and polished. His shield proudly displays the Eye of the Matia in blazing yellow and red hues. Underneath his armor, he wears immaculate mithril chainmail. A short sword, mace, and a double-headed great axe rest upon his shoulder, ready for battle.
Demeanor and Trials: Galdur's upbringing molded him into a serious and disciplined individual, devoid of laughter in his youth. However, his disposition began to shift as he forged bonds with Nieyette and the Old Lord Mok, finding joy in their presence. Tragedy struck when the Young Lord Mok, under Galdur's charge, met his demise. Since then, sorrow has once again enveloped Galdur's heart, making it difficult for him to experience happiness. However, the arrival of the new Lord Mok, Kodorus, brings a glimmer of hope and a chance for Galdur to find solace once more.
Powers and Challenges: Galdur possesses the power of foresight and a clear mind, setting him apart from his fellow Frouron Protates who possess healing abilities. However, during the Barbani raid on Elak'Ris, a fog clouded his mind, rendering him unable to foresee the potential disaster. This incident shook Galdur, leading him to question whether he is losing his powers. Unbeknownst to him, a curse has been cast upon him by a traitor at court, paid by the warlocks Kilgore and Ront, who have been lurking in nearby ruins.
Motivations and Loyalties: Galdur's unwavering commitment to duty drives him to serve his master, regardless of which Lord Mok holds the title. Despite the sorrow that haunts him, he remains steadfast in his loyalty to his order and those he serves. Galdur's path is marked by the weight of his responsibilities and the trials that have shaped him into the Sorrowful Knight he has become.
