Born in the darkness of a The Long Silence, when the two branches of magic were separated, humans have fought and clawed for everything they have.   Humans are a younger race on Althia. With various ethnic tribes, they are spread across the central continent of Esoma, but also prevelant on Kalanth and the Sunken Isles, humans are a jack of all trades race who's distinct ethnic and cultural distinctions have lead to to their power. While many races on Althia, whether due to lifespan or immutable historical practices, tend to more closely match their brethren, humans range widely in beliefs and societal structure.

Human Ethinicities

When you begin your adventure as a human, you must choose a distinctive ethnicity. Like other races, each ethnicity has its own unique talent in addition to the general human stat line.

Alathier

The Alathier Empire is the most prominent human kingdom in the world. It is a society of laws and order, devoutly pledged to the pantheon of the Skytear: Aema, Nothe, Calaisa, Ruenoune, and Ethir. The Alathier are located along the northern coast of Esoma, and into the central lands, where they have formed an uneasy pact with the Carthain. They are defined by legal and cultural opposition to the Sonan. Their zealot priests, the Branded, serve as witch hunters, executing those who utilize the power of the Sonan.
Talent:
Branded Sigil As an Alathier, you inherited a partial Branded sigil, which reduces the effectiveness of Sonan magic against you by 1 HP.

Carthain

Born on the frigid, shattered lands of the Carthain Steppe, you are accustomed to the brutality of the natural world. As a Carthain, you come from a culture that worshipped Thalakar, a locust-like goddess of hunger, death, and rebirth. Carthain warriors are known for the the intricate lattice of scars upon their chest they add to with each kill they earn in battle.
Talent:
Wind-Hardened Your character rests faster, and is less affected by adverse weather conditions.

Suuna

Born of an old empire now unde the Alathier banner, the Suuna cling to their ancient and mysterious traditions. Their isolated penninsula has affected their cultural development. The Suuna worship the Skytear pantheon, but in secret, still hold onto the ancient, dark gods of the sea that once defined them. They are known for their affinity with secret societies, and their ancient oral histories that recount buried tales of the ancient world.
Talent:
Oral History You may choose one of the three Dead Languages to understand with a modest proficiency. (This may help you uncover secrets in dungeons, make use of legendary loot, and learn secret spells).

Sunken Islander

A people feared across the land, the Sunken Islanders are known for worshipping ancient Old Gods who whisper prophecies of the future to them. Soothesayers from the Sunken Islands are common across the lands. Their connection to the Old Gods allows for unique Sonan spells, as well as an ability to read the intentions of strangers.   Considered fearsome warriors and scavengers they traverse their archipelego raiding ships that attempt to pass through.
Talent:
Palmreader You can offer strangers a palmreading, which allows you to more easily get information from them.

Daharin

A rival to the Alathier Empire, the Kingdom of Daharos is known for its wealth, luxary, and eccentric history. As a Daharin, you were raised worshipping the Magi of Crimson, a council of sorcerers said to convene with gods and the fallen emperors of the Rhejit. Daharins are occasional allies of the Esthian, sharing a mutual love for extravagance, and the power of the Sonan.

Talent:
