Elf
Born of the blood of the Old Gods, the Elvish races of Ilithia have ancient ties and memories that stretch to the infant days of time itself. Though others often speak of them as a monolithic species, elves have developed into distinct and often times contradictory ethnic groups with their own histories, traditions, and intepretations of their ancient history.

Sub-Races
Elvish cultures are distinct and different. When building an elvish character, you need to choose a sub-race that will define you.Eretorin
The oldest of all elvish kinfolk, the Eretorin are sometimes referred to as High Elves. They trace their history back through the Viathyr, a written history that holds the power of a Sonan. It is the basis for their ancient power. Like other Elvish races, the Eretorin sought a way to reacquire their immortality. An Eretorin high king, Meylathies, sought to steal the power of the Old Gods themselves through a forbidden Sonan. However, this affront resulted in the near destruction of their species and permanant damage to to their lineage. The Eretorin hold immense magical energy within their bodies, but risk spontaneous and catastrophic destruction when they overuse magic. Physically, they are massive, averaging 7 feet tall. The Corruption leaves pale, glowing veins and wounds that bleed magic energy along with blood. Their eyes glow brightly in the dark.Vel Fayne
A smaller faction of Elvish kind, the Vel Fayne are known for their fabulous wealth and their complex politics. Ruled by a collection of powerful royal families organized in a council, the Vel Fayne have their own process for attempting to acquire immortality. Many believe it is tied to their conversion as the only Elvish society that wields the Effigy and worships the New Gods. As a Vel Fayne, you come from a society that is proud, powerful, and distrusting of other Elvish races. They have carved an independant path, one that has seen them wage proxy wars through vast mercenary networks to protect their interests.Sylamier
The Full Moon Elves. Known for their regaling beauty, their mysterious culture, and their lavish tastes. They are called the Flowers of Sylma. With pale skin and hair, the Sylamier get their name for their physical attributes and their cultural connection to the moon-based deities. The Sylamier have managed to regain some semblance of their immortality, staying perpetually youthful for hundreds of years. However, the methods are secretive and unknown to most.Dalyor
Great Wood Elves have diverged from their brethren, turning their back on the pursuit of immortality. They have become isolated, retreating into the massive expanse of the Brightroar Forest. The Dalyor are less technologically advanced than many of their counterparts, but they are known as dangerous hunters and sorcerers who wield an ancient Druidic Sonan to manipulate their environment. Physically, they are known for their fiery hair, a unique physical trait of their particular ethnic group.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
